I’m a restless soul. Lately i’ve found myself doing so many things that it is quite an effort to try and sum it all in a couple of lines. These days, most of my time goes to graduate school, where i’m currently finishing a MRes in Terrestrial Ecosystems, and hoping to become a PhD candidate on the same subject by 2011.
I’m an active amateur historian, being the Portuguese age of discoveries, particularly the first half of the 16th centuries, my focus. Watching and understanding the skies is something i can’t help either. Despite the tight schedule i always read something about astronomy or astrobiology on a daily basis, and set my telescope out as often as i can. Electronic music. Well, see below.
I’ve been in love with electronic music ever since i remember. It all started with the discovery of a very primitive tracking software in the early 90’s. After trying nearly all the computer systems and trackers of the time, i also started djing.
It was later, whilst an undergraduate in college, that i started producing more seriously, and the first record deal came from NYC in late 2003. After that, i was signed for a bunch of eps, an album and remix work, by imprints like Plastic City (still in their good old days), LA’s soul filling Room Records or Berlinese Sonntag Music, amongst many others.
2006 was the year i managed to put in motion my very own label, Exquisite Music, which has been delivering some of the finest deep house tracks around since then.
Djing wise, i’ve played extensively throughout europe, in some of the most charismatic clubs and festivals, including a very chilled residency at legendary Café Del Mar and label parties on Ibiza’s almighty Space.
After a long hiatus, i’m back in the studio for a serie of new cuts. I’m also involved in some film and photography projects, and the weekly label episodes on Ibiza Global Radio.
